Event planning

I'm planning an event! Kinda. I'm trying to bring a speaker to USU next fall, which is sort of planning an event. I want to go in to some kind of event planning, mostly wedding planning, after I graduate, so this is exciting for me. I won't say what it is just yet because it's not for sure yet, I have to find funding first. But I'll update as the process continues and eventually reveal who and what. I'm coordinating with my organization, Alpha Chi Omega, as well as Student Arts & Lectures, Red Zone, and some others to market the event and raise participation. I'm hoping for 300 people! We'll see though. The process has just started, but it is fun. I am applying for a grant in order to fund the event, and am coordinating with the right people to look for other means of funding in case the grant doesn't come through. I'll be scheduling a location (probably the TSC), deciding on a time and date, coordinating marketing and advertising around the campus and community, and making sure everything runs smoothly and we get a good turnout. It will be an educational experience, not only because the speaker has a lot to offer, but learning the ropes of planning will be a learning experience as well. We'll see how it goes, but I'm excited!
